Wednesday, 12 December 2007
WAG Alex Curran has been held captive by masked men in a robbery at her house in Formby, Merseyside.
The wife of footballer Steven Gerrard, 25 - who was not hurt - is reported to have been at home with a pal when the incident took place yesterday evening.
Four men wearing balaclavas are said to have raided the property and stolen jewellery.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman has confirmed the incident.
'We are investigating a confrontational burglary which took place at around 9.30pm last night,' she tells The Sun.
'Four men, wearing dark clothing, hoods and balaclavas, entered the property and stole items of jewellery. We cannot confirm the nature of the confrontation.
'The female resident, and another woman who was in the house at the time, were left shaken but uninjured.'
Steven, 27, was not at home because he was playing with Liverpool in a crucial European match.
It's not known if the couple's two daughters, Lilly-Ella, 3, and Lexie, 1, were with their mum.
