Charlotte Church tells Gavin: We need therapy

Teary new mum Charlotte tell boyfriend Gavin Henson that they need professional help

Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson are set to go for counselling sessions in a bid to save their relationship.

In a series of teary phone calls to her mum Maria, 41, Charlotte confessed that she now wants to see a relationship guidance counsellor with Gavin because she doesn't want them to end up like her parents, who split shortly after Charlotte was born.

The final straw for long-suffering Charlotte came on 2 December when Gavin was nearly arrested after he and his rugby teammates became rowdy on a train.

According to a close family friend, Charlotte was livid and told him: 'The time is over for being boisterous – you're a dad now and you need to act like it.'

Charlotte also feels that their relationship's suffering because Gavin, 25, has neglected his home life. She's been left feeling isolated while he's away away and she's holed up at their country mansion in the village of St Brides Major in Glamorgan.

A close family friend tells Now: 'She feels trapped since having the baby, while Gav's getting out and about. He's back playing rugby and also socialising with his pals.

'Gavin would never stray, but Charlotte's vulnerable. Now she wants them to go for counselling because there's no way either of them want to break off their relationship.'
