Singer wants to be known as 'Louise' from now on
Thursday, 22 November 2007
Friends of superstar Madonna are worried the singer may be suffering a midlife crisis as she approaches her 50th birthday.
The mum of three is said to have asked friends to call her 'Louise' - her previously unused middle name - from now on.
Louise replaces 'Esther', the Hebrew name Madge chose when she first converted to Kabbalah.
'Madonna has started telling us all to call her Louise after 25 years of being Madonna, and then Esther,' says a pal.
'She says she wants to get back to her roots and remember who she was when she was born.'
And friends say the multi-millionaire singer and actress - whose husband Guy Ritchie, at 39, is 10 years her junior - is all too aware that she reaches her half century next August.
'It's to do with the fact that she's about to be 50 and is having an age-crisis,' the friend tells the Sunday Express.
'She's closer now to her seven siblings than she has been for years, and loves to reminisce with them about her early life in Michigan.
'It's almost like she's going full circle back to her roots.'
