Ashley Jensen: Posh is sweet and very normal

The Scottish actress loved having Victoria Beckham as a guest on Ugly Betty

Ugly Betty star Ashley Jensen was delighted when she heard Victoria Beckham was going to appear in an episode of the hit comedy.

And as a bonus, David turned up too.

'It’s a fabulous day at work when you talk about football with David Beckham,' says Ashley, 38. 'They’re both so iconic.

'Victoria and I were sitting in make-up, talking about what she was going to do the next day, and she was telling me: "I’ve had all my friends out to LA," and "Ooh, I love it here."

'She was just a normal girl. She was really sweet.'

Ashley loves her role as Maggie in the series and feels the show as a solid message.

'Ugly Betty helps young girls to actually see the values that have been lost – like honesty and integrity,' she says.

'Being hard working and loving your family is overlooked and it’s more about who’s wearing what, how thin we are and what we’re all meant to look like.

'It’s the outside package that’s seemingly important. I feel quite privileged to be a part of a programme that has that kind of message.'
