Nicole Richie wants to save America’s lampposts.

The pregnant star, 26, is launching a campaign to prevent dogs from peeing on the country’s streetlights.

Dog-lover Nicole is promoting Swedish inventor Lennart Jarlerbro's dog urinals.

The clever contraption is attached to lampposts to stop the dog wee from eroding the post.

‘This invention is just so clever,’ Nicole tells the Daily Star. It's a cute rubber cup attached to the post and a hose that pipes urine into the gutter.’

Meanwhile, Nicole’s soul legend dad Lionel has revealed she’s expecting a son with fiancé Joel Madden.

‘Nicole is having a boy,’ he tells America’s OK! Magazine. ‘She even has a few names picked out.’
