SEE VIDEO ITV try to ban Simon Cowell from Children In Need

Producers angry with music mogul for appearing on BBC

Simon Cowell was almost banned from Children In Need – because ITV producers claimed it was a breach of contract.

The X Factor judge ruffled feathers last week when he appeared on BBC2’s Top Gear and bosses were determined not to let him appear on the rival channel again.

But Simon – who signed a £20 million deal with ITV – was reportedly so outraged by the decision that ITV were forced to back down.

‘Simon was furious,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘Children In Need is close to his heart.’

The 48-year-old will join fellow judges Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne on tonight's live show to introduce star act Leona Lewis.

Children In Need begins at 7pm on BBC1.
