He says it's a wonderful thing that his affair was exposed
Sunday, 2 December 2007
Jude Law has spoken out about cheating on Sienna Miller with his kids' nanny.
'I learnt my lesson and I ain't going to f***cking do it again,' he says.
But the actor, 35, doesn't look back at the scandal in 2005 and wish it had never happened.
He feels he needed to own up to his mistakes and the affair needed to become public.
'There's no regret,' he reveals. 'I refuse to allow regret to sow a seed and live in me... Because if you regret, in a way, have you learnt and moved on?
'I'm kind of happy it was on such a public level.
'In a way it was like washing your laundry in public and, yep, there you go, you've seen me putting put the trash and now I feel like there's nothing left.
'You've seen it all and I can get on and in a weird way that's kind of wonderful.'
Jude insists his sense of responsibility to teach his 3 kids with Sadie Frost – Rafferty, 11, Rudy, 7, and Iris, 5 - about honesty was also a factor in coming clean.
'If you're going to give advice,' he tells the Telegraph magazine. 'Then it's got to be from the right place, it's got to be because you know what you're saying is true and if you're in denial then they're going to find out.'
