Russell Crowe: I want to get baptised

Actor wants to take ‘leap of faith’

Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe has revealed he wants to get baptized - at the age of 43.

The Gladiator star and wife Danielle are planning to baptise their sons Charlie, 3, and Tennyson, 1 - and Russell has decided he should join them.

‘I'd like to do it this year,’ he says. ‘My parents decided to let my brother and me make our own decisions about God when we got to the right age.

‘I started thinking recently, “If I believe it is important to baptise my kids, why not me?” I do believe there is something much bigger that drives us all. I'm willing to take that leap of faith.’

Russell admits his desire for ‘purity’ often gets him into fights.

‘Look, I call a spade a spade,’ he says. ‘I don't deny that. But my intention, for want of a better word, is a certain purity.’

Despite his macho reputation, he also confesses to being in touch with his feminine side.

‘I love going shopping,’ Russell tells Men's Journal. ‘I have a black belt in it! My wife really appreciates that in me.'
