Watch the beehive-haired star pop up on comedy show as a fairy

It’s hard to believe Amy Winehouse was once a fresh-faced starlet, but here’s a video of her on The Fast Show before she became a music diva.

The singer, 24, popped up as an extra in a sketch entitled Competitive Dada at the innocent age of 14.

In the sketch – which sees an overcritical dad try to outdo his child - Amy is dressed as a fairy for a school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

She is seen performing until the dad heckles and goes up on stage.

At the time, Amy was a student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School.

‘We didn't know she was going to be famous at the time,’ show star Paul Whitehouse told the Daily Mail at the launch of a Fast Show DVD box-set last night.

‘We only found out about it when she mentioned it in an interview, so felt we had to show it.’
