Kym Ryder fails to thank hubby Jack at National TV Awards

Corrie star wins Most Popular Newcomer

Ex-Hear'Say singer Kym Ryder received the Most Popular Newcomer prize at the National Television Awards last night – but failed to thank hubby Jack in her acceptance speech.

The 31-year-old won the gong for her role as feisty Michelle Connor in Coronation Street.

On accepting the award, Kym said the prize 'topped a great year'.

But while she thanked the show's cast, crew and scriptwriters, as well as the fans and viewers, Kym made one glaring omission.

The actress – who turned up in a daring red gown – didn't mention hubby Jack, 26.

And strangely, he wasn't even in the audience to see her pick up her gong at the bash on Halloween in London's Royal Albert Hall.

'He's taking the kids trick or treating,' she explained. 'I really wanted to dress up as a ghost.'

Kym made amends later in the night by thanking Jack at the after-show party.
