Samia Smith: I won't let anyone steal my husband

Corrie star insists she's not a pushover in love

Coronation Street star Samia Smith says her real-life relationship is far better than that of her on-screen character.

Hairdresser Maria Sutherland is unlucky in love but Samia, 25, is happily married to 31-year-old property developer Matt.

'Playing Maria makes me realise how lucky I am with Matt. Matt is great. He'll always tell me I look nice if I've spent time getting ready,' says Samia.

Poor Maria has fallen in love with womaniser Liam Connor, unaware that he just wants to make another woman jealous.

But Samia wouldn't be so passive in a relationship.

'If someone tried to steal my husband, I'd give them what for!' she tells Sunday. 'I definitely wouldn't sit back and let it happen.'
