Shock as favourite gets the boot

Gabby Logan has been voted off Strictly Come Dancing, despite being one of the hot favourites to win the show.

The presenter, 34, was placed in the bottom 2 with Rod Stewart’s wife Penny, 36, after the public vote - even though the judges loved her performance.

Gabby scored 30 points, 14 more than GMTV’s Kate Garraway, who was placed bottom of the scoreboard.

After a dance-off, the judges decided to save Penny and give Gabby the boot.

But the judges are said to be furious at the outcome, and feel the show is no longer about the dancing.

‘They’re unhappy that the BBC is determined to switch the show from being a dance contest into a popularity contest,’ a source tells the Daily Star.

‘Week after week it’s not the worst dancers coming bottom but the best.’

Even host Bruce Forsyth, 79, was fuming. ‘Next week, remember this is a dance contest,’ he told viewers after the shock result.

Gabby’s rugby hunk hubby Kenny remains in the contest.
