Dad-of-two reported to have life-threatening condition
Friday, 26 October 2007
Howard Donald has been taken to hospital with a collapsed lung.
The life-threatening condition, also know as a pneumothorax, means that oxygen cannot be absorbed into the blood stream in the normal way.
The Take That star is being treated in Vienna, Austria, and his girlfriend Marie-Christine is on her way to comfort him.
Howard, 39 - who was working as a DJ before the boys reunited in 2005 - has been pushing himself hard on tour, performing the energetic dance moves that he first showed off as a young man.
He told Jonathan Ross on his chat show last week that he was taking lots of supplements and vitamins - includiing cod liver oil and glucosamine - to keep himself fit for the exhausting stage performances.
The 6ft Mancunian is dad to Grace May, 8, and Lola May, 2.
