Babyshambles singer has drugs supervision order lifted
Thursday, 25 October 2007
Pete Doherty has vowed to stay clean after a magistrate revoked the last six months of his 2-year drug treatment order yesterday.
The Babyshambles frontman spoke out as he emerged from London's Thames Magistrates' Court.
‘I’m quite proud but this is just the beginning,’ Pete told the crowds of reporters.
‘I have just had enough already. My life has changed. I’m still a bit wobbly but I’m taking one day at a time.’
The decision comes after the 28-year-old successfully completed a stint in rehab and tested negative in his most recent drugs test.
‘I wish you well,’ District Judge Jane McIvor told Pete.
But the troubled star is not on out of the woods just yet - he's due in court later this week to be sentenced for driving illegally while in possession of drugs in Kensington last May.
The Babyshambles tour kicks off in November.
