Rhydian Roberts: I was a bit of a tosser

X Factor runner-up admits he was a little pompous at first

Rhydian Roberts has admitted he was amazed to get into the final of X Factor after coming across like a pompous weirdo.

The Welsh warbler - who narrowly lost out to to Leon Jackson on Saturday night - says he feels ashamed of his earlier behaviour.

‘I cringe at the earlier clips because they are really embarrassing,’ he says.

‘I do come across as a bit of a tosser and I admit that. But, looking back I think that has done me a favour because people have taken an interest in me and I felt determined to turn it around.’

The 24-year-old has most definitely won public support and his devoted fans are gutted he didn't win the final. But Rhydian is happy to be runner-up.

‘Dannii and I were worried that the public wouldn’t give me a chance and I would be one of the first to be voted off,’ he tells the Daily Star.

‘So going as far I did was like a dream come true.’
