Actor says his children's safety is paramount

Brad Pitt has decided to stop drinking when he’s in charge of the kids - saying he can’t risk putting his children in danger by having a fuzzy head.
The actor, 41, made the decision after seeing his adopted daughter Zahara, 2, almost choke to death on an ice cube.
‘It’s not easy to be a good father when you’ve had a few drinks,’ he says.
‘About a year ago I’d had a couple of beers and my daughter Zahara had this piece of ice that had been dropped on the floor.
‘She was just putting it in her mouth and began to choke on it, and that’s it. You have to be absolutely on top of every situation.’
Brad’s determined to a responsible parent for Maddox, 6, Pax, 3, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 16 months - and wants to be clear-headed for any future dramas.
‘The other s**t doesn’t work anymore,’ he tells Empire.
‘When they wake up in the middle of the night, you have to be there. And you can’t deal with children when you have a hangover – that’s just a misery.’
