Liz Hurley and millionaire hubby Arun Nayar are embroiled in a misunderstanding over the cost of their March wedding.
The couple's March civil ceremony at Sudeley Castle was followed by a blessing at St Mary's Church.
The Rev John Partington didn't charge the newlyweds because, it is understood, the parish assumed the celebrity couple would make a larger cash 'gift' donation after the nuptials.
Instead, Liz and Arun, both 42, have decided to donate 12 kneelers.
'For the choir, organist and vicar to attend, the bill normally would be in the region of £1,000,' parish treasurer Sue Williams tells the Independent.
'We need money to pay the gas bill, for new hymn books and a new boiler. Kneelers aren't very high on our list of priorities.'
A spokesman for the couple says. 'Elizabeth and Arun have commissioned a dozen, hand-embroidered kneelers to donate to St Mary's Church at Sudeley Castle, for all worshippers and visitors to enjoy.'
