Billy Zane took one look at Kelly Brook and fell down the stairs

Actor made a fool of himself when he took her out to lunch

Kelly Brook has revealed that when fiancé Billy Zane first took her out to lunch, he was so determined to make an impression that he fell down the stairs.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 27, met up with the actor in 2004 to discuss the script for pschylogical thriller Three – but Kelly says their relationship didn't begin well.

‘He arranged a meeting at the Chateau Marmont in Beverly Hills,’ Kelly writes in her autobiography Life Style.

‘Billy arrived 15 minutes late – which I now know is impressive, given his dreadful time keeping.

‘He spotted me, smiled, then he fell over as he walked down the stairs towards me. It was an interesting start.’

Despite making a fool of himself, Billy, now 40, managed to talk her into auditioning for the film.

Before she knew it, she'd got the part - and a new man.
