Colin Farrell's son has rare disability

4-year-old James only started walking 6 weeks ago

Actor Colin Farrell has revealed that his young son has a rare form of cerebral palsy.

It's the first time the Miami Vice star, 31, has spoken about James's condition.

The 4-year-old - whose mother is model Kim Bordenave - suffers from genetic disorder Angelman Syndrome and has only just started to walk.

'From day one I felt that he's the way he's meant to be,' Colin says.

'With my son the only time I'm reminded that there is something different about him - that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal - is when I see him with other 4-year-olds.

'Then I go, "Oh yeah", and it comes back to me.'

James took his first steps 6 weeks ago.

'He worked his a**e off for 4 years,' Colin tells the Daily Mirror. 'When he took the first steps it was incredibly emotional, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.'
