Pete Doherty reunited with estranged dad

They make up after 3 years

Pete Doherty has made up with his dad – after 3 years of not talking.

The ex-Army major, also called Peter, disowned his troubled son after he got hooked on drugs.

But now Pete Senior, 53, wants to help the Babyshambles singer stay clean.

‘My dad has welcomed me back into the family fold,’ Pete tells the Sunday Mirror. ‘He came in for family therapy at the rehab centre. It was quite an emotional time.’

Pete, 28, reckons the reunion was only possible because he’s made such an effort to beat his demons.

‘This is the first time I’ve been clean for 7 weeks in 8 years,’ he explains. ‘I’m not going to lie and say it’s not a struggle. It is.’

Now there’s a set of words we thought we’d never see in the same sentence. Pete. Doherty. Clean.
