Prince William's girlfriend joins shooting party
Monday, 15 October 2007
Kate Middleton is at the centre of a public row after she joined a shooting party in Scotland this weekend to hunt wild deer.
The 25-year-old travelled to Balmoral with Prince William and was snapped practising her aim with a bolt-action rifle, aided by Prince Charles' ghillies.
Kate’s decision to participate in the blood sport has outraged animal rights campaigners who say she is only taking part to please the Royals.
‘Killing deer for a sport is a horrible pastime,’ a spokesman for League Against Cruel Sports tells the Daily Mail.
‘It’s very sad that she has chosen to participate in this cruel sport.’
Unaware of the controversy she was stirring up, onlookers say Kate – dressed in camouflage gear and pearl earrings - looked surprisingly relaxed while holding the rifle and pulled the trigger confidently.
