Halle Berry says she still struggles to get roles because of the colour of her skin.
The actress, who was the first black woman to win an Oscar, claims race is still a very important issue in the movie business.
'It doesn't matter that I have an Oscar, an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a Silver [Berlin] Bear,' she says.
'I shouldn't have had to try so hard to be considered. I should have to stop convincing studios I am right for it - it should be on my acting merit.'
Pregnant Halle, 41, whose father is African-American, insists she's not considered on a equal level with her fellow female actresses.
'Not having a chance is what I can't live with at this point in my career,' she admits. 'I think I have earned that.'
