Paul McCartney and Heather Mills spend 8 hours in court

Macca and his ex still can't come to an agreement

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills were yesterday embroiled in an 8-hour battle to try and agree terms to end their 4-year marriage.

The estranged couple arranged to meet at the Royal Courts Of Justice in Holborn to discuss their multi-million pound divorce settlement – but failed to reach a resolution.

‘They are still miles and miles apart,’ a source reveals.

‘It was a tense and difficult day. They are civil for the sake of their daughter but they are both sticking to their guns.’

The pair split in May this year and, according to reports, the settlement will be Britain's biggest ever, with Heather, 39, likely to walk away with a £57m slice of 65-year-old Macca's £825million fortune.

But the pair can’t agree on several issues and are struggling to compromise over daughter Beatrice’s future.

‘There could be any number of reasons they can’t agree,’ the source tells the Daily Mirror.

‘It may be that Heather wants the money as a lump sum rather than piece-meal payments. Or it may be they are discussing a trust for Bea and Heather doesn’t agree with Paul’s suggestion of a trustee.’
