Singer wants to perform without a drink

Pete Doherty has vowed to perform without the aide of drugs or alcohol when he tours with Babyshambles in November.

The troubled rock star, who has been in rehab for 6 weeks to kick his drug addiction, is planning to get up on stage completely sober.

‘He feels like a new man,’ a source reveals. ‘It’ll be a challenge for him to go tour without drugs.’

Pete, 28 - who has just emerged from Clouds drugs clinic in Wilts looking fresh-faced and healthy – is desperate not to slip back into his old ways and wants to prove his critics wrong.

‘Everyone expects him to fall back into it,’ the source tells The Sun.

‘But he’s confident he can keep on the straight and narrow.’

Things are looking good. Babyshambles' new album Shotter’s Nation already in at No 5 in the album charts.
