Alicia Silverstone: I was scared of marriage

Actress took eight years to say ‘I do’ to husband

Alicia Silverstone admits it took her just under a decade to respond to her husband’s marriage proposal.

The Hollywood actress, 31, walked down the aisle with rock singer Christopher Jarecki in June 2005, but it was only after she’d given the matter some serious thought.

‘I didn’t want to be married because I was still in my early 20s and I didn’t like the prospect of calling myself a wife,’ Alicia tells Condé Nast Brides.

‘We finally married in a simple, small wedding at lake Tahoe, Nevada, eight years after his proposal and after two years I now love calling myself a wife.’
