Release date brought forward to stop illegal downloads
Wednesday, 10 October 2007
Britney Spears has been forced to release her new album much earlier than expected in order to beat illegal downloads.
The shock-decision comes after record bosses became worried that internet leaks might sabotage the album's success and dampen Brit's chances of getting to No 1.
‘The demand for Britney’s new album has taken everyone by surprise,’ a source tells The Sun.
‘People are desperate to get their hands on it. Executives at the label decided to give people what they want, so they opted to get it on the shelves as soon as they possibly could.’
So now Blackout will be released on 29 October – a week before her single Gimme More which is to be released on 5 November - and is tipped to be a huge success.
