Jamelia and Darren Byfield are engaged

Footballer proposes to the shocked singer

Jamelia and Darren Byfield have announced they're engaged – and Jamelia says she's over the moon.

Darren got down on one knee at his birthday party in Birmingham on Sunday night in front of family and friends and asked the mum-of-two to marry him.

'I'm completely over the moon,' the singer tells The Sun.

'Darren proposing was a real surprise but I'm totally delighted. I can't stop smiling!'

Jamelia, 26 – who has 2 daughters Tiani, 1, and Teja, 6 - split from the footy star this summer over rumours he'd cheated but now the smitten couple are looking forward to celebrating their lives together.
