Rap star rakes in £17 million a year
Tuesday, 9 October 2007
Jay-Z has been crowned the world’s biggest hip-hop earner – taking home a massive £17 million last year alone.
The star is ranked the King Of Bling by Forbes Magazine – who placed him above 50 Cent, Diddy and Timberland – who all earn in excess of £10 million a year.
But the rapper, 37 – who owns a fleet of luxury cars, nightclubs and mansions – insists that despite his wealth he’s always been extremely down to earth.
‘There’s one thing all the money in the world can’t buy,’ he explains to the Daily Star Sunday.
‘And that’s cool. But I was cool even before I didn’t have a dime to my name. Now I have all the cool things that a lot of hard work has created for me.
‘If I’m the king, ain’t nobody gonna take this crown away from me.’
Jay-Z’s album American Gangster is expected to go platinum within days of its release next month.

1 lucky reader will win the Wild Child goodie bag and 2 runners-up will get the DVD
