Becks to buy his sick father an apartment in LA

David Beckham has promised his dad a new house and an apartment in California – both mortgage-free.

The generous offering is said to be Becks' way of making peace with his sick dad Ted, 59, who had a near-fatal heart attack 12 days ago.

‘Ted’s heart attack made David realise how much his dad means to him,’ a friend tells the News Of The World.

‘They’d drifted apart and at one point weren’t even speaking. But David’s determined that will all change now.’

The footy star, 32, is rumoured to have chosen an apartment in LA just round the corner from his and Victoria's home.

‘Ted doesn’t want to move to the States permanently,’ the source says, ‘but he’s looking forward to seeing more of David.

‘The apartment in Los Angeles is near to David’s family place, so now Ted can see them all regularly… and be a proper grandfather to the boys.’
