Lindsay Lohan and father clean up act

Actress leaves rehab after intense talks with estranged dad

Lindsay Lohan has checked out of rehab following an intensive heart-to-heart with her dad Michael.

The actress, who entered Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in August, has been estranged from Michael for a couple of years while he tackled his own drug problems.

Having completed a two-year prison stretch in March, Michael was recently ordained a church minister and took Lindsay to a remote hill cabin at the Utah rehab clinic to thrash out their issues.

'Lindsay is weeding out all the bad. She's taking a step back and re-evaluating her life,' reveals Michael.

'What she tells - her honesty and openness - has brought me to tears. It's beyond words how proud I am of her.'

Lindsay, 21, was arrested for drink driving and possession of cocaine in July.

The Mean Girls star is also due to start work on her tango-themed comeback film Dare To Love Me next week.

'I will be there in her life as best I can, but from here on she's going to have to make decisions on her own,' adds Michael to the Daily Mirror.

'She's in a great, great place now. I've never heard her so honest, contrite and focused.'
