Actress speaks out against new breed of stars

Reese Witherspoon has attacked the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, claiming they do the feminist cause no favours.

The Oscar-winning actress spoke out against party-loving celebs, slamming them for being bad role models.

'We don't need to keep reading about female celebrities who are out there posing all the time and craving attention and exploiting the sex-symbol stereotype,' Reese, 31, tells Metro.

'My mother and grandmother fought incredibly hard against a male establishment to become high achievers in their lives.'

Reese is famous for playing a dizzy blonde lawyer in Legally Blonde, but she isn't afraid to tackle more serious roles – her latest film is the political thriller Rendition.

'I think women should be able to be sexy and smart and successful,' she continues, 'without being silly and aimless.'
