Silk fails to wow US audiences

Keira Knightley's new film has bombed in the US, taking only $700,000 in three weeks.

Keira, who's currently receiving critical acclaim for the romantic war drama Atonement, stars in new film Silk, about the travels of a silkworm smuggler.

The film cost over $20 million to make, but critics have panned the star's performance

A critics for industry magazine Variety said the film 'mainly consisting of bland, longing-filled greetings and farewells. Along with a topless bed scene.'
