Daniel Edwards's horric statue depicts dead Prince
Friday, 5 October 2007
Prince Harry lies ‘dead’ with a vulture at his feet in a new sculpture by controversial artist Daniel Edwards.
The horrific statue sees Harry clutching a bloodied locket with a photo of his mum Princess Diana – and shows a vulture sitting on his feet following his ‘death’ in Iraq.
The sculpture is said to be a ‘memorial’ of Harry’s determination to fight for his country - and Daniel claims it's a celebration of his courage.
‘I don’t think it would be any more distressing than the months he spent not knowing what would happen if deployed,’ he tells the Daily Mirror.
‘It recognises what he was willing to put on the line… his life for his country.’
The statue is to be shown in London next Thursday, amid rumours that the final version will have no ears – a chilling reminder of what rebels threatened to do to Harry, 23, if he was sent to Iraq.
