Sunday, 7 October 2007
Gordon Ramsay is planning to open his own British-style restaurant in Paris to showcase our finest food.
‘I’ve had a belly-full of the French coming over here and telling us how s*** our food is,' the fiery chef tells The Sunday Times.
‘We have cheese on toast, they have croque-monsieur. They just have posher names.’
The 40-year-old will use only British produce and is passionate that English grub will cut the mustard on the continent.
‘We should f****** stand strong and shout from the rooftops,' he rants.
'[We have] hand-dived scallops from the west coast of Scotland, wonderful Aberdeen Angus steak and mussels and oysters from beds in south Ireland. Why not?’
Why not indeed?
