Nicolas Cage captures burglar

Actor finds stranger wearing his jacket

Nicolas Cage caught a man in the middle of burgling his house.

The Oscar-winning actor apprehended the thief on Monday night, after he woke up and discovered a stranger downstairs wearing his jacket.

Nic escorted the man out of his house in NewPort Beach, California, and called the police.

The burglar, Robert Furo, gave up without a fight and has been charged with residential burglary.

'Mr Furo is accused of breaking into the home of the victim, Nicolas Cage ... and wearing Mr Cage's jacket,' says district attorney Farrah Emami to Agency France Presse.

'Mr Cage woke up and escorted him outside.'

If convicted, Furo faces up to six years in prison.
