Singer crashes en route to AA meeting

Keith Urban has been involved in a motorcycle accident while trying to evade paparazzi.

The country singer - and husband of Nicole Kidman - was on his way to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Sydney when his attempt to shirk off a following photographer resulted in him losing control of his bike.

Keith, 39, has been attending AA meetings since his stint in rehab last year, shortly after his wedding to Nic.

'Today's incident was the result of one person's desire to do his job and my desire to maintain my privacy,' Keith reveals in a statement.

'I sped up and, in an effort to elude an oncoming car which was making an illegal U-turn, saw no choice but to drop my bike.'

Luckily he escaped without injury. 'In fact, my pursuer came to my assistance, without taking photos, and helped me from the road,' Keith adds.
