Charlotte Church may quit showbiz

She just wants to be a good mother, says her mum

Charlotte Church has taken to motherhood 'like a duck to water,' says her mum Maria.

'I wouldn't be surprised if she turns her back on fame as well. She never looked for it - it found her.

'All she cares about is being a good mother. And she's doing a pretty good job so far.'

The 21-year-old singer gave birth to Ruby Megan on 20 September.

Rugby star boyfriend Gavin Henson was by her side for the birth at their home in Cardiff.

Since then the new parents have devoted every waking hour to their little daughter and haven't so much as thought of going out.

'She has hung up her partying shoes for good,' adds Maria to ITN News.

'You won't be seeing her out on the town for a long while. And she's totally off the booze. In fact, at the moment she's not bothered about having it ever again.'
