Pete Doherty given more time in rehab

Court appearance postponed until next month

Pete Doherty was due to appear in court today – but it has been adjourned until later this month.

The Babyshambles frontman was to be sentenced at West London's Magistrates Court over charges of drug possession and driving – but now it's thought to be suspended until 26 October.

Pete, 28, was arrested in May after allegedly being found in possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.

And District Judge Davinder Lachlar told Pete that he should expect to face prison or community service.

But the troubled star - whose original sentencing date was 4 September - instead checked himself into the Clouds rehab clinic in Wiltshire and is said to be making a good recovery.

And Andy Boyd - one of Pete's managers - said they're hoping for a lenient sentence from the judge on 26 October.

'He's the best I've seen him in five years,' he tells NME.com.
