Hubby Phil Vickery thinks she's so sexy

Fern Britton has streamlined from a size 22 to an 18 without ditching any of her sexy curves or starving herself. The 50-year-old lost 4st by cycling – which she discovered a love for while on a gruelling 250-mile charity ride.

Her husband, chef Phil Vickery, 46, says: 'Fern's lost a lot of weight by cycling, walking the dog and not eating too much.'

Phil was furious when newspaper columnists mocked pictures of Fern on the beach in 2005. 'I couldn't understand the fuss,' he says.

'I looked at those photos and thought: "Cor! She's really sexy!" People come up in the street and tell me I'm a lucky sod – and they're right.'
