Keisha Buchanan: I've thought about suicide

Sugababes star tells of depression when she first shot to fame

Keisha Buchanan

Keisha Buchanan has revealed that she was once so low she thought about ending her life.

The Sugababes star says that the early days in the band were among her worst – and she sunk into deep depression.

'I went through a really bad patch when I was 17,' she tells the Daily Mirror.

'A lot of my friends were incredibly mean to me. I thought about ending it all. That's how bad things were. I was so, so depressed.'

Keisha, now 23, struggled to remain popular with friends who were jealous of her success.

'I had everything I wanted, but not happiness,' she says.

'My friends never came [to the shows] and they never invited me out. I wanted to fall asleep and not wake up.

'I've got a great circle of friends now. It's been hard but I'm through the worse.'

Glad to hear it, Keisha.
