Shane Warne dumped by furious ex-wife

Cricketer sends wife a text message meant for secret lover

Cricketer Shane Warne has finally run out of chances with his ex-wife Simone after accidentally sending her a text message intended for another woman.

It read: ‘Hey beautiful, I’m just talking to my kids, the back door’s open.’

Simone, 37, who was in Australia at the time, replied: ‘You loser, you sent the message to the wrong person.’

The couple divorced in 2005 because of Shane’s roving eye, but have recently been trying to patch things up.

Simone now says she’s ‘devastated’. But adds: ‘it was the wake-up call I needed.’

‘I’d been very suspicious for some time that he was up to his old tricks but he denied doing anything wrong. Then I got the text by mistake and that was it – I knew that my gut feeling was right.'

In reply, Shane, 38, has denied having an affair.

In a statement he says: ‘We gave our relationship a go in the UK but it just wasn’t working so we agreed amicably to go our own way.’
