Des O’Connor marries at 75

Countdown star finally pops the question after 17-year romance

Des O’Connor has tied the knot for the fourth time.

The 75-year-old Countdown star wed long-term girlfriend Jodie Brooke Wilson at Highclere Castle in Berkshire last week.

Guests at the bash included Cilla Black, Bradley Walsh, Bobby Davro and Des’s Countdown co-star Carol Vorderman.

‘I’m a truly happy man. This was a truly magical wedding,’ says Des.

‘We have been on honeymoon for 17 years and I am looking forward to many more good times.’

The TV veteran says he popped the question to 38-year-old Jodie following the birth of their son Adam, three.

‘We didn’t need to prove our commitment to one another, but Adam’s arrival has changed everything,' he tells Hello! 'He is our greatest bond.’

Father of five Des, met Aussie singer Jodie when they appeared in panto together in 1990.
