Salma Hayek gives birth to baby girl

Ugly Betty producer welcomes new daughter

Salma Hayek and her businessman fiancé François Henri Pinault are the parents of a baby girl.

'Mother and child are doing well,' Salma's publicist Cari Ross has confirmed in a statement.

The Mexican-born actress, 41, who produces and regularly appears in Ugly Betty, is more than ready for maternity, says one of her co-stars.

Actor Michael Urie, who plays Wilhelmina's assistant, Marc, thinks that Salma will have everything under control.

'She knows how to take care – like we have a ton of producers, and she's really caring,' he tells People magazine.

'She's like the matriarch of the producers. She's already motherly.'
