Pete Doherty has tried to woo back Kate Moss with an extra special gift: a dead mouse brooch.
Pete, 28, is said to have been given the idea by wild rocker Courtney Love, 43.
Apparently, the dead rodent brooches are all the rage in New York.
Pete, who’s currently holed up at the Clouds rehab clinic in Wiltshire, thought the furry pin would make Kate understand how much he's suffering without her.
‘Some people might find it disgusting,' a source tells the Daily Star, but it’s still art, if in its extreme sense.
‘Nobody baulks when Damien Hirst puts a shark in formaldehyde and this is very similar.
‘It’s become the latest outlandish fashion statement in Manhattan but Pete is trying to emphasise how he feels without Kate – defeated, crushed and broken, like the dead animal.’
Kate, 33, spent Saturday night partying in north London with chums Sadie Frost, Sienna Miller and Rhys Ifans.
The dead mouse was nowhere to be seen.
