P Diddy: Britney Spears wasn’t drunk at MTV Awards

Rap star says singer only drank water at VMAs

P Diddy has dismissed claims that Britney Spears was drunk at the MTV Video Music Awards – saying he never saw her touch a drop of alcohol.

The rap star, 37, says he offered booze to everyone backstage at Las Vegas hotel The Sands - but insists Brit, 25, stuck to water before she performed her comeback single Gimme More.

‘The times that I was around her, in her defence, she don't drink any alcohol,’ he tells TV show Access Hollywood.

‘I didn't see her drink. I was hospitable, I offered everybody a drink and, you know, she had water.’
