Simon Cowell: Britney wouldn’t get through X Factor audition

He thinks her career could be over

Simon Cowell wasn't a bit impressed by Britney Spears' lacklustre comeback performance at the MTV Awards on Sunday.

The music mogul believes she just wasn't ready for the show in any way.

‘If I had been looking after Britney I’d have taken one look at her in rehearsals and I wouldn’t have allowed her on stage,’ he says.

‘If she had turned up and given that performance at The X Factor auditions, I wouldn’t have put her through to the next round.’

And the 47-year-old thinks Britters may have ruined her career.

'It’s difficult to come back from that performance, for a while at least.’
