Nude photo confirmed as genuine

A nude photo of Vanessa Hudgens has popped up on the internet – and the young star's rep has confirmed it’s her.

The image shows the actress, 18, standing in the buff in front of a red curtain.

Vanessa is dating Zac Efron, 19, who co-stars with the actress in High School Musical 2.

'This was a photo which was taken privately. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public,' Vanessa’s rep tells TMZ.

Vanessa says: 'I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me.

'I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends.'
