Pete Doherty volunteers to go into rehab

He avoids jail for 6 weeks

Pete Doherty has avoided jail for at least another 6 weeks by checking into rehab.

Pete’s lawyer confirmed the 28-year-old voluntarily has entered a residential facility.

The singer had been due to appear at West London Magistrates' Court for sentencing for drug possession and motoring offences – but that’s been put back to 2 October while he has treatment.

‘I think he's quite serious,’ his lawyer tells the Daily Mirror. ‘He's asked to go in and he's still there so he's trying.’
