Gwen Stefani has admitted she is ultra-careful about everything she eats - because she's vain.
The 37-year-old star says her trim figure is down to hard work and control - but she still suffers with insecurity.
'I try not to be, but I'm super-neurotic about diet,' she admits. 'I'm neurotic about trying not to be neurotic!
'I'm like every other girl. I've had to try really hard my whole life to be fit. And I'm super vain. And I want to wear cute clothes.
'I was chubby when I was a little girl. And I have all those issues everyone else has.'
