EastEnders Steve McFadden gets beaten up

EastEnders hardman Steve McFadden was left with a black eye after a pub bust-up.

The actor - who plays Phil Mitchell in the BBC1 soap - was floored by a fellow drinker while on a night out in Falmouth, Cornwall, on 29 July.

Steve, 48, was so badly hurt that show bosses ordered scenes be rewritten and delayed some shooting.

'He was pretty banged up,' a source tells the Daily Mirror.

'He walked away with a black eye. The guy he argued with is a big bloke. He obviously took exception to Steve.'

An EastEnders spokesman refused to comment, saying it was a personal matter.
